ARK in Berea: Over the years, we as Americans have been united in our grief as Newtown, Connecticut and other cities have lain to rest so many beautiful, innocent children, along with the heroic educators who worked every day to help them achieve their dreams. Regardless of the motive behind such violence, no act of terror can be accepted or justified. Terrorism and violent extremism should find no shelter or refuge in any ideology, political opinion or religion. We feel The Answer is to overcome this common threat and work harder to promote the iceality of a sustainable global culture of peace. This has all become more obvious against the backdrop of such atrocities. The Answer to preventing these types of attacks from recurring in the future is to unite as one human race for Peace. We firmly believe that respect for human and environmental rights and greater understanding between people from different racial and religious backgrounds must be the cornerstone of society in today's fast-changing, globalized world.
The Science behind Peace and Global Harmony is the The incorporation of the rights of flora and fauna in a "Universal Peace Equation" is the first major change in achieving a sustainable global Culture Peace on Earth in over 2000 Years. https://theicea.com/page22
The Worlds Children Peace Monument (WCPM) and the Great American Peace Trail (GAPT) Projects are international, public participatory art projects designed by the International Center for Environmental Arts to engage all the Worlds Children with cross-cultural awareness in order to attain the common goal of sharing peace and diversity with their neighbors. The WCPM & GAPT Peace Projects aim is to foster positive community engagement through the creation of site-specific works of public children's art, leaving a legacy of neighborhood beautification, community cultural development and arts training for everyone.
The WCPM & GAPT Peace Projects highlights the Power of Art in communities, focusing on the creative process and affirming that community-based art can be a vehicle for social change by empowering participants, transforming environments and contributing to collective healing and economic development. We partner with organizations, schools, community groups and businesses to develop unique participatory projects, designed and implemented through social engagement and action. They have direct community impact through neighborhood beautification, community and economic development while building self-esteem and hope. They will help to build better societies where everyone can live, respect and accept each other as they diplomatically negotiate errors and differences of prejudice and hatred and instill in its place the belief in the necessity of communication. Unfortunately, extremism exists in all communities, ethnicities and religions. An effective response must begin with communication of the truth of our common humanity. Those who learn to believe in the dialogue of iceality cannot be susceptible to violent extremist ideology.
Peace is too important to be left solely in the hands of politicians; they do not have the training or inclination to commit to openness, equality and democracy. Therefore, our main goal for the WCPM is to educate the Children today, so they will be able to train and stop the violence in their future.....and that begins within each one of us Now". We now have the power to make this World a beautiful place one child at a time. Begin with your own child and watch how that child radiates towards the other Worlds children. We are all children of the universe and we have a right to live here in peace". Ambassador Renate
About The Worlds Children Peace Monument (WCPM)
The WCPM is located at Coe Lake Park in Berea, Ohio. An original idea conceived during EXPO 2000, the Worlds Fair held in Hannover, Germany. It was designed and built by Environmental Artist David Jakupca at the historic ARK in Berea as a project of the International Center for Environmental Arts (ICEA) in cooperation with the United Nations 2000 Culture of Peace Program. The project is to encourage positive community participation through the establishment of site-specific works of public art, through cultural education and entrepreneurial training to children around the World.
As new WCPM Stones are added to gardens around the world, it will, in time, become the largest monument dedicated to Global Peace. The sculpture serves as a milestone for the 'Theory of Iceality' of the Environmental Art Movement indigenous to the Great Cleveland Area that is to "Assist in understanding of the relationship between Humans and their Environment through the Arts ultimately promoting a sustainable global Culture of Peace". The WCPM was officially inaugurated in 2003 at the 3rd World Peace Conference held in Verbania, Italy by American Cultural Ambassadors David and Renate Jakupca where they received an Italian Medal of Arts. They were also recognized by the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland and in 2006 appointed Universal Peace Ambassadors. The WCPM is organized in support of the UN Decade of Peace and Non-Violence for the Children of the World and the UN Millennium Development Goals.
Today, if we live up to our responsibilities and recommit to our tradition of civic participation, there is nothing our country cant achieve. Dr. King once said that, "Everybody can be great. Because anybody can serve." In this defining moment, we each have the chance to reach out to our neighbors, lend a helping hand, and answer that call to greatness. By building the national coast-to-coast The Great American Peace Trail (GAPT) formed by select Peace Stone sculptures located in municipal parks. Leaving a legacy of Peace and Goodwill, neighborhood beautification, civic and cultural development and arts training for all Ages for all Time.
