have been working tirelessly for the last 18 months and putting in so much heart and soul to be ready for their European tour this summer.

WORD of the WEEK: FRUHLINGSGEFUHLE
This word literally means Spring Feelings--it refers to the cheerful, excited emotions people often feel when spring arrives. It's that sense of joy, warmth, and maybe even a bit of romance in the air when the flowers bloom and the sun comes out!
Wenn die Sonne scheint und die Vogel zwitschen, bekomme ich richtige Fruhlingsgefuhle (When the sun is shining and the birds are chirping, I really get that Springtime feeling.
In Germany, Fruehlingsgefuhle are so commonly felt that even newspapers and TV Shows use the word during weather reports and spring fashion segments! Some scientists even say it's real--more sunlight increases seratonin, which is the "happy hormone".

The Worlds Children Peace Monument (WCPM)
Located at Coe Lake Park in Berea, Ohio. Was
designed and built by David Jakupca as a project
of the International Center for Environmental Arts
(ICEA) in cooperation with the United Nations Culture
of Peace Program. As the corner stone for the National
Coast-to-Coast Great American Peace Trail, as WCPM
Peace Stones are added to parks and gardens around the
world, it will, in time, become the largest monument
dedicated to a sustainable culture of Global Peace.
The WCPM embodies the ICEAlity of the Environmental
Art Movement indigenous to the Greater Cleveland
Area, that is to "Assist in understanding of the
relationship between Humans and their Environment
through the Arts". The WCPM was inaugurated in
2003 at the 3rd World Peace Conference held in
Verbania, Italy by American Cultural Ambassadors
David and Renate Jakupca where they received an
Italian Medal of Arts. They were also recognized by
the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland and in
2006 appointed Universal Peace Ambassadors.

Today we are going to talk about open hands and open hearts!
It is said that As you do, so it will be done to you.
I have come to realize that treating others as you want them to treat you is a matter of choice.
However, being a blessing to others should not be based on how you feel about someone.
It should be an act to anyone with nothing expected in return other than knowing that you hae done something to make another person feel good.
That statement is the truest mission of what the WORLDS CHILDREN PEACE MONUMENT represents. It's our demonstration of caring for one another--family, friends and the German community-- that sets an example for others to see. Those who follow make compassion an essential part of their lives find the joy of living. Kindness deepens the spirit and produces rewards that cannot be completely explained in words. It is an experience more powerful than words. To become acquainted with kindness one must be prepared to learn new things and feel new feelings. Kindness is more than a philosophy of the mind. It is a philosophy of the spirit.
Also, remember that someone somewhere is always watching. Your actions will always speak to others about your capacity for compassion.
It's simple: Here at the Cleveland German Radio Show, there are so many listeners and supporters, and every one of them plays an important role in ensuring that what is needed and necessary for the betterment of the greater Cleveland german Community.

For many people, the first thing that comes to mind when asked about Heinrich Heine is "Die Lore--Ley".
"Das Lied von der Loreley" is probably the best know poem by Heine, besides "Deutschland - Ein Wintermärchen". It is about the mythical figure of the Loreley a mermaid who bewitches seamen on their way along the Rhine with her songs and drowns them in the river. According to the legend, she is sitting on the Loreley Rock near Sankt Goarshausen in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. This Rock is still an exciting sight when visiting the Rhine and attracts many tourists all over the world.

HERMAN THE GERMAN FRIENDSHIP CAKE

A Herman friendship cake is something that money cannot buy, but you can give it away. Heman is alive . He grows slowly because of the yeast process. It also takes ten days before you can eat him. A Herman friendship cake shouldn’t be put in the fridge and also requires a lid or to be covered by a tea towel. He grows at room temperature.
